EntrePass Singapore: Is It the Right Work Visa for Your Startup Journey?
The EntrePass allows eligible foreign entrepreneurs to start and operate a venture-backed or innovative business in Singapore. Unlike the Employment Pass, the EntrePass doesn't require a local employer — you are the founder.
Who Qualifies for an EntrePass?
MOM targets EntrePass at founders whose businesses meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Venture-backed by a recognised VC, angel investor, or incubator
- Registered a technology patent with Singapore's Intellectual Property Office
- In collaboration with a Singapore research institution or university
- Supported by a Singapore government agency (e.g., Enterprise Singapore)
Application Requirements
- Company must be incorporated (or in the process) with ACRA
- Detailed business plan with financial projections
- Evidence of entrepreneurial track record and capability
- Documentation of innovation, funding, or institutional backing
What Happens After Approval?
The EntrePass is initially valid for 1 year and renewable upon demonstrating business milestones — including employment of local staff, revenue generation, and investment raised.
